2024 PIEF National Conference & Awards

WELL, THERE YOU HAVE IT… PIEF2024 HAS COME TO AN END IN PERTH,  and what an amazing conference it was. We are extremely grateful for your support of the conference this year, and would like to thank all of you for being involved, whether in person or online.

The knowledge gained from Terry Bogyo, and the impactful experiences shared by Lauren Parker and Theo Venter really set the tone for the panellists and presenters, who in turn provided insightful and thought-provoking perspectives from within the industry.

We’d especially like to acknowledge all of the sponsors involved, in helping us stage such an amazing event. We’d also like to congratulate all our finalists once again for their marvellous efforts in being recognised and celebrated.

Looking ahead – and if you haven’t heard the news already, we are excited that PIEF will be heading to Sydney next year. Preparations are already underway to ensure that we deliver another unique experience.

We look forward to welcoming you there.

Welcome to Perth!

In the words of Rebecca Harris, “Kaya” or “Hello and welcome”. What a fantastic way to welcome you all to this year’s PIEF Conference, and of course to the beautiful city of Perth, on the west coast of Australia.

We are extremely excited to be supported by our Major Sponsors WorkCover WA and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia, but also Business Events Perth & Crown. Without the support of you all from within this industry, these kind of events wouldn’t ever go ahead, so we’d like to thank you all.

The Personal Injury & Disability Conference will be taking place at Perth Crown from October 28 to 30 this year, and we look forward to welcoming you from across the country and from overseas, where we can come together to connect, collaborate and celebrate our industry.

Acknowledging Diversity

When planning the 2023 PIEF National Summit & Awards, we wanted to include and acknowledge some amazing people who have lived experience of disability.

We approached Tutti Arts, a South Australian multi-arts organisation where learning disabled and neurodiverse artists create art. They introduced us to the incredibly talented and creative Jackie Saunders, a Ngarrindjeri and Wirangu artist, whose artistry is beyond captivating.

We hope you were as impressed as us with Jackie’s artwork, celebrating her rich cultural heritage, and bringing attention to the Summit’s four sub-themes – Mental Health, Capability and Professional Standards, Attraction and Retention, and Innovation and Artificial Intelligence. Jackie’s creations serve as powerful reminders of the impact of art in sparking change and fostering connections between communities.

We’d like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Jackie and the fantastic team at Tutti for their invaluable contribution to the PIEF National Summit and Awards.

Together, let’s continue amplifying the voices and stories of Indigenous and disabled artists, celebrating their extraordinary talents and preserving their cultural legacy!
